The Water & Roots People's Movement Assembly took place on December 2 & 3, 2016 and engaged over 75 members, allies, and community leaders for a one day gathering with the purpose to build deeper relationships to water.

The outcome was a deeper understanding of how water is the center of the fight for climate and environmental justice, and a stronger commitment to providing spaces that offer healing.

In the mist of a political shift, SWU is grounded in our values and is  committed to ensuring our community is safe from the changing climate and political factors that criminalize undocumented families. The PMA connected issues of economy, migration, food, water, land use with climate change.
